What the job covers
Oil and filter, conventional or synthetic, in the grade the engine was built for. The right interval depends on the engine, the oil and how the car is driven — short trips and stop-start running are harder on oil than steady highway distance, which is worth knowing on a Fraser Valley commute.

Worth booking it in
- The service reminder or the oil light has come on.
- The oil on the dipstick is black and thin, or below the mark.
- A season or more has passed and you are not sure of the last change.
- The engine sounds noisier on a cold start than it used to.
- You have just bought the car and do not know its history.
What else gets checked
While the car is up: fluid levels, belts and hoses, tire condition, and any leak that has started since last time. Anything found is reported with a price before it is touched — an oil change does not quietly turn into a bigger bill.
